Roofing Services

Exterior Homes provides professional roofing services in Vancouver, WA and Southwest Washington, including but not limited to:

• Roof inspections and maintenance
• Gutter installation and repair services
• Insurance claim assistance

Service Area

Our services are primarily provided in Vancouver, WA and surrounding Southwest Washington communities. Service availability in other areas may be limited and subject to additional terms.

Service Agreements and Contracts

Written Agreements

All roofing projects exceeding $1,000 will be documented in a written contract that includes:

• Detailed scope of work and materials to be used
• Project timeline and completion dates
• Total cost and payment schedule
• Warranty terms and conditions
• Change order procedures

Estimates and Quotes

Free estimates are provided for informational purposes only and are valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified. Estimates may be subject to change based on:

• Unforeseen conditions discovered during work
• Changes in material costs
• Modifications to the scope of work requested by the customer
• Local permit requirements

Pricing and Payment Terms

Payment Schedule

Payment terms will be specified in your service contract and typically follow this structure:

• Deposit: Up to 10% of total contract value upon signing (as allowed by Washington State law)
• Progress Payments: Based on completion milestones as specified in contract
• Final Payment: Due upon completion and customer acceptance of work

Accepted Payment Methods

We accept cash, check, and major credit cards. Payment processing fees may apply for certain payment methods.

Late Payment

Late payments may be subject to a service charge of 1.5% per month (18% annually) on overdue amounts, as permitted by law.

Warranties and Guarantees

Workmanship Warranty

We provide a comprehensive warranty on our workmanship:

• Labor Warranty: 2 years on all workmanship
• Leak Warranty: 5 years on new roof installations
• Repair Warranty: 1 year on repair work

Material Warranties

Material warranties are provided by the manufacturer and terms vary by product. We will assist with warranty claims but are not responsible for manufacturer defects.

Warranty Limitations

Our warranties do not cover:

• Damage from natural disasters, acts of God, or extreme weather
• Normal wear and tear
• Damage caused by third parties
• Modifications made by others after completion
• Failure to perform recommended maintenance

Customer Responsibilities

Property Access and Preparation

Customers are responsible for:

• Providing safe and unobstructed access to work areas
• Removing or protecting personal property around work areas
• Ensuring pets are secured during work hours
• Obtaining any necessary HOA approvals
• Disclosing known hazards or special conditions

Permits and Approvals

Unless otherwise specified in writing, customers are responsible for obtaining necessary permits and approvals. We can assist with permit applications for an additional fee.

Limitation of Liability

Our total liability for any claim related to our services shall not exceed the total amount paid for the specific service in question. We are not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of use, revenue, or profits
• Damage to personal property not directly caused by our negligence
• Delays due to weather, permit issues, or material availability

Service Limitations and Disclaimers

Weather Conditions

Roofing work is weather-dependent. We reserve the right to suspend work during unsafe weather conditions for the safety of our workers and to ensure quality installation.

Structural Issues

We are not responsible for pre-existing structural defects unless specifically addressed in the contract. Additional charges may apply for structural repairs discovered during work.

Hidden Conditions

Quotes are based on visible conditions. Additional costs may apply for problems discovered after work begins, such as rotten decking, structural issues, or code violations.

Cancellation Policy

Customer Cancellation

Customers may cancel contracts within 3 business days of signing without penalty (Washington State right of rescission). After this period:

• Cancellation fees may apply to cover costs already incurred
• Deposits may be partially or fully non-refundable
• Custom-ordered materials become customer responsibility

Our Cancellation Rights

We reserve the right to cancel or refuse service for:

• Safety concerns or unsafe working conditions
• Non-payment or creditworthiness issues
• Abusive or threatening behavior toward our staff
• Misrepresentation of property conditions

Dispute Resolution

Communication First

We encourage customers to contact us directly to resolve any concerns before pursuing formal dispute resolution.

Mediation

If direct communication fails to resolve disputes, we agree to participate in mediation through a mutually agreed-upon mediator.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any legal proceedings will take place in Clark County, Washington courts.

Emergency roofing services are available 24/7 for urgent situations that pose immediate risk to life or property. Emergency service rates apply and will be disclosed before work begins.

What constitutes an emergency:

• Active leaks causing interior damage
• Storm damage compromising structural integrity
• Safety hazards from loose or falling roofing materials

Environmental Responsibility

We are committed to environmentally responsible practices:

• Proper disposal of old roofing materials
• Recycling programs when available
• Use of energy-efficient materials when requested
• Compliance with all environmental regulations
